Bridgeman Images Partners with the Ingebrigtson 16mm Film Archive Project & Collection

Bridgeman Images is pleased to announce its latest partnership with The Ingebrigtson 16mm Film Archive Project & Collection, a home movie collection showcasing everyday life in northern Canada, including shots of notable faces and its unique wildlife.

The Ingebrigtson 16mm Film Archive Project & Collection, currently maintained by Sheila Ingebrigtson-Stewart, is an archived film collection capturing an early and mid-century context of an immigrant family’s life as they settled, worked, and overcame hardships in a northern Canadian climate and in isolated communities. From the celebrities and officials who visited, to the wildlife and landscapes they encountered, amateur video footage captured a unique and changing historical context.

Sheila, a second-generation Canadian and the youngest of her immigrant parents, has extended her passion for lifelong learning, teaching, research, and writing into creating a tapestry of intertwined visual media and memories to help weave the past and help connect its threads to the present and future.
